The first thing that came into my mind when I browsed crunchyroll.
Why are all the wonderful anime released in 2008. And why during April? Oh my god, this is PMR year for us, and with all those folios piling up now, I don't even think I can get the chance to watch them online, plus I haven't even finish the anime I watched a month ago.
First there's Vampire Knight, due to be released on April 7 or 8. Very highly anticapted by fans, this one. Not to be blamed because of the wonderful manga by Matsuri Hino which it is based on. So, which means that there is a high possibility that it will never be better than the manga. Furthermore, after watching the promotional video for the anime, I'm further convinced that it will be like one of those anime that will flop and disappoint fans. Firstly, the character designs which look far too amateur looking for the standards of VK, especially Zero, who does not carry the significance of his personality just because of the character designs in the anime. And the opening song disappointed me also, which makes me wonder how can an opening like that be chosen for an anime like Vampire Knight. It just doesn't suit the atmosphere of the show. Oh well, I hope that the anime will prove me wrong and live up to the high expectations of fans after I have watched it. But seriously if you are a VK fan, go check it out after it is released. But till then, keep your fingers crossed.
Next would be the second season of Code Geass, Code Geass:Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, also released in April. After the cliffhanger which ended the first season, the second season is also higly anticipated by fans. However, judging from the promo video, it looks like the second season mantains the quality of its previous season and will feature many new characters, in particular Rollo Lamperouge, who is rumored to be the clone of Lelouch and the "male" version of Nunnally. And weird enough Lelouch, Karen and Suzaku are alive after the supposed gunshot in the cliffhanger. Well, I guess we would have to the watch the second season to find out.
The list goes on.. xxxHoLIC kei, the second season of xxxHoLIC will also be released in April and it seems that it will follow the manga loyally. Even the opening sequence features scenes that were originally illustrated by Clamp for the manga. And judging that it will be produced by Production IG, this looks like an anime that will live up to fans' expectations.
Anime that has garnered popularity after its release are Spice and Wolf, and the anime Mnemosyne. But people who don't like gore and nudity, please stay away from Mnemosyne, because it features a fair share of violence and disturbing scenes.
More anime released in April are Neo Angelique based on the PS2 game by Koei and Amatsuki based on the manga with the same name.
And attention to all D.Gray-man fans who will tune in to Arts Central tonight to watch the newest episode, there will be new opening and ending sequences starting from episode 77 onwards. They are Gekaidou by UVERworld and Regret by Mai Hoshimura..Tune in to find out..:-)
