Singapore Trip

On the 27th of August, Elaine, Lee Ting, my sister, and me went on a day trip to Singapore. Lee Ting and Elaine had actually come to stay for the night before our trip. It was a really fun experience cos none of them had actually slept over at their friend's house before. We chit chatted until the wee hours about the upcoming trip and what we liked to dress..Typical girl talk..haha

My mom fetched all of us first thing in the morning to Singapore. We had breakfast at Mcdonald's. I even put an extra Hash Brown in my bag. After that, we went to the Immigration Centre to renew our Permanent Residential status before proceeding to the Science Centre. My mom went to work after that. We had the 'golden opportunity' to ride the MRT to Orchard Road, but we were all drenched when we reached the MRT station cos we had only one umbrella. We looked like really sesated people running across the streets..haha..And one of my shoe straps just had to break on that day. My feet were all black after that.

Anyways, we reached Orchard safely. It was a rather long ride. We walked and walked until our feet were all sore. My sis had a few blisters too, but it was really fun. Our lunch was pastries and bread from this rather posh bakery at Ion Orchard. It was real good. Lee Ting also bought lots of food when we walked round the place. We were walking pass Wisma Atria and we saw this *ehem* rather seedy place which sells, you guess it, condoms. It was called the "House of Condoms". And we even passed by that place a few times. There was even a warning saying that only people above 21 could enter..LOL..

Our trip ended with a wonderful dinner at Bakerzin's. It was really tiring to be walking all over the place, but I enjoyed myself very much. It was our first time hanging out together in Singapore. I hope we can have more outings in the near future.

Library Farewell Party
Yesterday was finally the farewell party for our Form 5 seniors. And it was so delayed because of the Penilaian Koko thing, and further more, the plan to celebrate the party in the hall did not materialize because we had Open Day yesterday..

The party started at around 12.30 noon. Cassie and Wei Ting were already up in the library before 12.00 to make sure everything was in order. The juniors also helped carry the food up, and it brought back memories of transfering the food all the way from the car park to the library when I was in Form 2. I can't believe that now we would be actually in charge of organizing the party..Time does fly.

The food this time was really scrumptious! And to make sure that the juniors get enough food ( we have this tradition of letting the seniors take the food first), all the Form 4 librarians dilligently helped dish out the food for everyone. We had spaghetti, tofu, fried chicken, cream puffs, cheese tarts and cupcakes..(Yum!) Before the party started, Ashley and me went to look for Puan Emilda, and she handed trays which looked like pandan leaves which were supposed to be used for putting the name tags for the juniors..Last time we used those shiny silver trays, but this time there were none left for us..Puan Emilda said it looked very Malaysian..haha...

The party started the usual way, with the librarians all lined up outside the library, and when the seniors came, everybody gave them a big round of applause. Geok Boon and Melissa, the outgoing president and vice-president respectively, both gave speeches, and Geok Boon's speech especially, was really touching. I can't believe that they are going to leave the school soon. Cassie, the new president, also gave a speech expressing her gratitude to the seniors for helping in the transition to becoming a president of the library.

After that we gave out the name tags to the Form 1 and Form 2 juniors. However, the Form 4s and the Form 3s have to wait till next week to get the name tags due to unforeseen circumstances..Although we could not get our name tags yesterday, I really look forward to getting them next week. This time it will be the golden name tag. :)

Anyway, all of us were really glad that the party was a huge success! The seniors enjoyed themselves very much..I was really glad that they liked their gifts too. I was kinda worried that they did not like how I wrote their names on the cups, but they liked it very much, so I'm relieved..I'm sure my sister feels the same way too. There was also enough food for everyone this time, in fact, there were too much food that we had to "dapow" back..hehe..Later we had to carry the food all way to the tuition centre..I'm really happy everyone enjoyed themselves..

To all the Form 5 librarians, we wish you all the best in your SPM and in whatever you are going to pursue in the future. And we will miss you, very very much :)
